Return to the Reality of LA California
The Keen Cafe is "conveniently located in the middle of nowhere. " This was a wonderful place to stop for dinner after we dropped Mary and Sam off at the LA Airport. Even here in - at an altitude of 2700 ft and in the cold of March the housing costs are skyhigh. The cost of the housing is not too bad (ie: $300,00+ for a house) but the house had to be on at least 4 acres of land selling for $100,000 per acre.
Sana Monica Beach is beaufitul. Of course it can still be cold and when it is just a short drive from there to telling Mary and Sam goodby the beach seemed somewhat unusually gloomy.
Beach or no beach - Sam will find a stick to play with. I wonder will he be a famous baseball player, a golfer, a woodcarver or just a happy hiker?
Mary and her Mom. They are so much alike that from time to time they . . . But there is no doubt about the intense love they have for each other.
Mary and her brother John. At peace and having fun in LA - of all places!
Mary and her "baby brother John. For years all he would eat was pizza and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
We were able to spend some time with Johanna, but she had a very hectic schedule of work and school. She is such a bright girl and she'll go a long way.
John and his little Mom. For years he actually believed she was just 39 years old.
John, Mary and Bill. A moment in the sun that is Southern California
Sam, Mary and "Uncle John" these guys really get along wonderfully.

It's cool that you and mom did even more exploring after dropping us off at the airport. Thanks for teaching me to love and appreciate going to new places and doing new things. The pictures you took of us by the pool are fun and I like the one of Sam, John and me too.
